This role is integral to maintaining the gallery’s artistic standards, collector relationships, and commercial performance. The Assistant Gallery Director will work closely with ownership and senior leadership, exercising sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism while balancing creative, operational, and client-facing responsibilities. This position iswell-suitedfor a seasoned gallery professional ready to take on increased responsibility within a refined and high-performing environment. Key Responsibilities Support the development and execution of a museum-quality exhibition program aligned with the gallery’s vision. Assist with private sales, client cultivation, and ongoing collector relationship management. Serve as a trusted representative of the gallery to artists, collectors, advisors, and visitors. Help oversee day-to-day gallery operations, staff coordination, and exhibition logistics. Maintain accurate sales records, inventory, and client communications. Assist in planning and hosting private viewings, events, and VIP engagements. Uphold the gallery’s reputation, presentation standards, and discretionat all times. Contribute to long-term growth, market positioning, and operational excellence. Requirements 5 years of experience in a contemporary art gallery or comparable art market role. Strong knowledge of contemporary art, artists, and market dynamics. Demonstrated experience supporting sales and collector relationships. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, professional demeanor. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Discreet, thoughtful, and confident working in a confidential, high-touch environment. Availabilityto workweekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
