WE EXIST TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF ATHLETES AND TEAMS

Our mission is to improve the performance of athletes and teams, which we do by engineering the premier technology platform for sport. We've been at the forefront of sports technology and science since 2006 - we don't just work in the sporting industry, we are actively changing its future. Our solutions are designed to help athletes and coaches “play smart” in a world where 1% can literally mean the difference between winning and losing.

We work with over 4,400 teams around the world, empowering coaches, managers and trainers in premier teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, EPL, AFL, NRL, NCAA and more. We provide the information they need to optimize athletes’ health, game-day readiness, and performance, as well as in-game tactics. Our solutions include video analytics and athlete monitoring solutions, and we are passionate about helping sports organizations at all levels to better scout, recruit, teach, and win.

WE WANT AN INNOVATOR WHO IS PASSIONATE ABOUT DRIVING IMPACT

We’re looking for a Corporate Development Director to join our growing, fast-paced organisation. This is a multifaceted role that requires a mix of strategic aptitude, a commercial mindset, and hands-on execution. They will be responsible for driving strategic growth through acquisitions and partnerships. They will work closely with the executive team to understand the sports-tech ecosystem, identify opportunities, conduct due diligence, assess valuations, and oversee integration efforts. The ideal candidate has a strong background in corporate finance, strategy, and technology markets.

The role is based in Boston, USA, with occasional global travel, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer (Boston based).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market opportunities to inform corporate development initiatives. Build a market intelligence system to continuously identify and evaluate potential acquisition and partnership targets.
  • Evaluate acquisition opportunities, including vetting targets, building financial models, assessing valuations, and overseeing due diligence.
  • Lead investment and strategic partnership efforts to enhance technology capabilities and market positioning.
  • Develop deal structures and resulting term sheets that satisfy internal capital guardrails.
  • Oversee integration efforts to maximize value creation from acquisitions.
  • Present strategic recommendations and deal updates to the executive team and board of directors.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Deep understanding of the technology industry and market dynamics.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in post-acquisition integration and operational execution would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).

ABOUT YOU

  • You are commercially minded, able to consistently exercise good judgment, and understand the key drivers of the business.
  • You are a structured thinker with high IQ and EQ that brings a data-driven approach to your work.
  • You are a natural relationship builder, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; you have the ability to influence positive outcomes at all levels of the business.
  • You have a collaborative work style and a roll-up your sleeves attitude; deep sense of personal ownership, and willingness to do the work as opposed to just overseeing or managing the work.
  • You are able to successfully manage competing priorities and responsibilities; you can work fully independently on key initiatives and are equally comfortable acting under close instruction when needed.
  • You possess global awareness and can operate effectively in a globally dispersed organisation and are comfortable with the challenges of doing so from a timezone and work schedule perspective.
  • You are straightforward and personally confident being able to give, seek and receive feedback constructively.

WHY CATAPULT?

  • We have amazing people. We can promise you will work with some of the most ambitious and intelligent people in an exciting industry, and you will do some of the best work of your life.
  • We encourage our people to have constructive, open and honest communication in order to make Catapult extraordinary; innovate and create smart solutions; establish a collaborative, yet challenging, environment to develop our performance and the performance of our customers.
  • Our workforce spans more than 20 countries, you'll have the opportunity to work across multiple nationalities and cultures, and build your global awareness and capability
  • We value improvement and development. We are challenging ourselves to continuously grow and become a high-performance company. That means we maintain a growth mindset in everything we do, and our people are always looking for ways to do things better. There is unlimited opportunity to grow, do more, and do better.

Whether you’re interested in sports or not, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing your work is supporting some of the most successful teams and athletes on the planet!

Research shows that while men apply for jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized groups tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't meet every single point in our job ad, please still get in touch! We would love to have a chat and see if you could be a great addition to our team. We are building the future of sports performance. Our priority is to find the brightest talent that can add to our team culture, those who actively contribute and who are excited about what they do.
