Description We're Hiring: Grants Writer | Make Impact Your Mission Are you a compelling storyteller with a strategic mind and a passion for social impact? Join CRi as our next Grants Writer and help us secure the resources that power transformative programs across the region. CRi is seeking an experienced and motivated Grants Writer to lead all phases of the grant life cycle-from researching opportunities and crafting persuasive proposals to ensuring compliance and fostering funder relationships. Location : Chantilly, VA This position has the opportunity be a hybrid position: 3 days in office and 2 days' work from home. Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Write clear, compelling, and persuasive cases for support, letters of intent (LOI), proposals, and progress reports tailored to the specific requirements of each opportunity and funders. Develop budgets and other supporting documents required for grant submissions. Coordinate the application process, gathering necessary information, ensuring that all application components are complete and submitted on-time. Develop and maintain an annual calendar of grant funding opportunities aligned with development priorities. Promptly track and respond to new opportunities Implement evaluation tools to assess initiatives, qualitatively demonstrate success, and position CRi's funding to be renewed or increased. Assist the Director with developing and nurturing relationships with active and prospective corporate, foundation, and other institutional funders. Introduce and represent CRi to external stakeholders. Identify emerging grants and funding trends to help position CRi as an innovative applicant. Collaborate with internal partners across functional areas of the agency as appropriate. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience as a grant writer or in a similar role, with a successful track record of securing funding. Demonstrated skills in developing presentations, spreadsheets, budgets, and timelines. Strong organizational, research, and analysis skills with attention to detail. Created and innovative orientation to problem-solving and identifying opportunities. Strong written and oral communication skills. Inclusive and supportive approach to information sharing; proven ability to form positive working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications: Prior work experience in the mental health, heath, and/or social services field. Experience applying inclusion and accessibility principles to written consent. Experience using Candid's Foundation Directory to identify and research funders.
