The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Highly Qualified Expert, HQE Chief User Experience Officer.

Duties

The Chief User Experience Officer (CUXO) will help create and drive a user experience culture in the information technology and acquisition organizations. The CUXO will:

1. Counsel senior leaders in the development, implementation, and sustainment of IT/ET and the employment of new IT/ET technologies.
2. Define the top-down scope of the Air Force's specific Digital User Experience challenges, quantify them where possible, and define approaches and tools to address them.
3. Advise and influence programs with widely used applications, especially those under PEO BES and AETC, to improve UX and achieve widespread benefits.
4. Facilitate among programs to identify and close gaps in experiences involving multiple applications.
5. Lead the development of infrastructure to help IT programs improve UX across digital applications.

• Must file an Executive Personnel Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450).
• Position is Critical-Sensitive; Top Secret clearance is required or obtainable.
• Subject to drug testing and random testing for drug use.
• Must be able to travel on short notice and support after-hours activities.
• May be subject to post-government employment restrictions.
• Applicants with civilian annuities are subject to DoD policies on employment of annuitants.

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate training, education, and experience sufficient to perform the duties. They should exemplify leadership, vision, broad experience, and character suitable for the SES corps, prepared for future vacancies across various organizations and functions. Experience in IT/ET architecture, emerging technologies, and program management is essential. The ability to present and defend positions at high government levels is required.
