Job Description

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES ("SKA") REQUIRED:

• Ability to learn to use forklift and pallet jack
• Must be able to lift 20 to 40 lbs. consistently and up to 60 lbs. occasionally

WORKING CONDITIONS: The environmental conditions under which the employee must perform the functions/tasks of this position include indoor warehouse with occasional need to go outside to move trucks into the building.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:

• Daily forklift and/or pallet jack inspection
• Use loading equipment to acknowledge and pick orders
• Load product according to proper date sequence
• Practice safe driving habits as dictated by forklift safety program
• Open all bay doors on route trucks as high as possible
• Clean as you go, keeping all areas of warehouse as neat as possible
• Pull route trucks into building leaving enough room to operate forklift between trucks. Pull air brake when stopping truck. Blow horn and check mirrors before moving truck.
• When moving tractor and trailer use the air brake and chock the rear trailer tires
• Daily cleanup as prescribed in plant sanitation program
• Enter data in daily cleaning log
• Monthly cleanup as prescribed in plant sanitation program
• Practice proper personal grooming habits
• Wear appropriate, clean clothing
• Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

OTHER DUTIES:

• Other duties as assigned
