Overview

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at one of our PetSmart locations. Volunteers help us feed, clean, socialize and help process adoptions for these cats.

Please only sign up for one shift. Our Volunteer Team will then contact you to help you get officially scheduled. Please do not go to PetSmart until we have contacted you.

We deeply appreciate your interest in volunteering at one of our PetSmart locations. Volunteers play a crucial role in our efforts to care for, socialize, and facilitate adoptions for our cats.

Key Details

• Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer independently. For individuals aged 12-17, volunteering is permitted with a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old.
• Time Commitment: This opportunity involves a regular weekly shift lasting 2 hours and requires a long-term commitment of at least 2 months.
• Adoption Volunteer Shifts: Volunteers assist in finding forever homes for cats during these shifts, which are available at various times throughout each day.
• Cleaning Volunteer Shifts: Volunteers assist with cleaning kennels, providing enrichment, and socializing with the cats. Shifts are available Mondays through Saturdays, with AM shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and PM shifts from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Sunday shifts vary due to store opening and closing times.
• Locations: City Place (75204), Greenville Ave. (75206), Lakewood (75214), Mesquite (75150), Denton (76205).
• Whether you can volunteer once a week or more frequently, the choice is entirely yours and depends on your availability and commitment. Your dedication is invaluable to us!

Application Process

• Express your interest through Voly.
• You will then be contacted with a link to complete a SPCA of Texas volunteer application. Upon completing the application, you will need to fulfill a few initial steps.
• A SPCA of Texas staff person will contact you.
• Please refrain from going to PetSmart until we have scheduled you to get started.
