The Plumbing & Pipefitting Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, piping networks, heating systems, and related components in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance

• Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, gas piping, heating systems, and related fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Assemble, install, and secure pipes using proper tools, fittings, and materials.
• Fit and join pipe sections using soldering, brazing, threading, welding, gluing, or mechanical methods.
• Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, water heaters, boilers, pumps, and valves.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose issues in plumbing and piping systems and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Perform leak detection, pressure tests, and system inspections.
• Repair or replace defective pipes, fittings, fixtures, valves, and equipment.
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all federal, state, and local plumbing codes and company safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Use proper protective equipment and tools safely.

Customer Service & Communication

• Communicate clearly with customers, contractors, and team members regarding work performed.
• Provide accurate estimates on labor, materials, and timelines when needed.
• Document all work completed and maintain proper job records.
