Production Assistant, NBC Connecticut We’re looking for a Production Assistant to support both live and recorded content at NBCUniversal in West Hartford, CT. The role involves technical production tasks, studio maintenance, and coordination of ENG remotes. Responsibilities Operate control room equipment (Ross Overdrive, Xpression) and remote cameras. Make audio and video adjustments, perform basic video editing, and maintain studio gear. Coordinate ENG remotes: tune in live shots, locate field crew, set up communication links. Assist with live and taped field operations for special events. Monitor quality assurance, conduct on‑air readiness checks, and perform pre‑show equipment checks. Maintain studio cameras, lighting, set pieces, and other broadcast equipment. Essential Functions Newscast editing and live shot tuning; ingest video or commercials. Operate automated production equipment (Ross Cambots, Ross Overdrive, Xpression). Participate in live and taped field operations for special events; set up equipment for live and taped productions. Qualifications Basic Qualifications At least 2 years’ experience in production work (audio, automated production control, production graphics, non‑linear video editing, production and ENG camera operation). Willingness to travel, work overtime, and work weekends with short notice. Work onsite at the station in West Hartford, CT. Unrestricted U.S. work authorization. Member or willing to join the IBEW union. At least 18 years of age. Covered by NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. Position is full‑time and performed at an NBCUniversal designated worksite. Desired Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience in a live broadcast production role. Strong work ethic and ability to meet tight deadlines. High integrity and professionalism under pressure. Strong interest in current news events. Team player who can work independently. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Dalet Galaxy, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams).
