Base pay range $55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr This is a hybrid role based out of our Chicago/O’Hare Area office, with an expectation of being onsite three days per week. Applicants must reside within a 100-mile radius of the office to be considered. Job Summary The Society of Actuaries is seeking a skilled and motivated Salesforce Administrator to support and maintain the organization's Salesforce environment. Reporting to the Salesforce Manager, the administrator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Salesforce platform, providing user support, managing configurations, and assisting with ongoing system enhancements. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective use of Salesforce to support organizational objectives. Reports To : Salesforce Manager Key Responsibilities System Administration & Support Manage and perform day-to-day Salesforce administrative tasks, including user setup, profile creation, role assignment, and system maintenance. Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting issues and responding to user inquiries in a timely manner. Triage incoming requests and work with Salesforce Manager to prioritize, and to coordinate with other supporting teams as needed. Maintain data integrity by managing data imports, exports, and updates using Salesforce tools. Create and update custom fields, page layouts, validation rules, workflows, and reports. Create and maintain users, roles, profiles, security settings. Ensure uptime for Salesforce powered applications by facilitating off hours support requests from the DevOps team on and as needed basis. Configuration & Maintenance Implement security settings to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Monitor and optimize system performance by managing system upgrades, patches, and releases. Monitor and analyze Salesforce usage to ensure that the system is being used to its fullest potential and all licensing obligations are being met. Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements through system customizations and configurations. Implement changes required for prioritized requests (bug fixes or planned implementation). Includes all Configuration elements of Salesforce, including creation or updating of fields, objects, flows, etc. Develop and maintain data models strategies to ensure consistent and accurate data collection and reporting across Salesforce and related systems. Work within DevOps process to promote changes via GearSet. Collaboration & Coordination Partner with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate Salesforce-related projects and enhancements. Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures related to Salesforce Support the integration of Salesforce with other systems and workflows, working closely with the Salesforce Manager and IT team. Facilitate user training sessions and develop documentation to support system adoption and proficiency. Strong communication on every request, collaboration with Salesforce Manager to provide transparent communication regarding priorities and timelines to other teams once agreed within the Technology + Innovation group. Follow best practices for Salesforce implementation, including documentation. Continuous Improvement Stay up-to-date on new Salesforce features and functionalities to identify (and, when agreed with Salesforce Manager, implement) opportunities to improve existing processes. Recommend specific and detailed enhancements aligned with organizational needs for future improvement opportunities. Identify (and where applicable, implement) specific “level one” changes required to support priority requests. Work with Salesforce Manager for “level two” or higher complexity changes. Participate in testing and quality assurance processes to ensure smooth implementation of updates and changes. Requirements and Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Certifications: Salesforce Associate Certification required. Experience: 1–3 years of experience in Salesforce administration or a similar role. Proficiency in Salesforce features such as custom objects, workflows, process automation, and reporting. Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Familiarity with data management best practices is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Advanced Certifications: Salesforce Administrator, or other advanced Salesforce certifications. Methodologies: Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies.
