About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join our Commerce Engineering team. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA .

In Commerce, our mission is to get Wing's drone delivery into the hands of partners and customers. Our team builds APIs, tools and customer facing applications, enabling Wing drone delivery for businesses. We build safe, reliable, and scalable systems, with a detail oriented mindset, delivering a customer first experience.

This position seeks highly-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a highly dynamic and collaborative team environment.The successful candidate is able to identify areas in need of investment, set solution strategy, influence team direction, and have direct impact through their technical contributions, cutting through ambiguity, and designing and building complex systems . We’re looking for people who are intrinsically driven to collaborate on hard problems, drive simple solutions, and take pride in their team's work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set solution and/or architectural strategy for yourself or a limited number of peers, cutting through ambiguity, and pre-empt complicating factors ahead of time
  • Design and build a performant Android application, in collaboration with backend engineers and other web/mobile engineers, in a privacy and security conscious ecosystem
  • Investigate and build software in areas with limited expertise and make an immediate impact
  • Collaborate cross functionally with business partners, product managers, and program managers to design, implement and quickly launch new features for partners and end consumers, on time
  • Mitigate, root cause and resolve urgent, time sensitive issues, in both familiar and unfamiliar software, as part of an on-call rotation, or other escalations
  • Contribute to a team culture of support, engagement and quality, ensuring Wing can scale as a business

What You’ll Need:

  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing Android applications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and experience working in a collaborative team
  • Ability to identify challenging problems and potential solutions with limited guidance, launch and successfully land the solution without any complications
  • Experience developing in Java and/or Kotlin

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

Salary Range

$214,000 - $249,000 USD
