Software Engineer – AI & Algorithm Development for Autonomous Robots

Intuitive Autonomy is a Silicon Valley startup building intelligent robots to assist seniors with limited mobility. Our mission is to empower independence and quality of life through advanced AI-driven physical assistance.

Overview

We’re seeking a software engineer to design and implement AI models and algorithms that enable robotic manipulation, locomotion, and autonomous behavior. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring advanced autonomy to real-world robotic platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy large-scale AI models (LLMs, VLMs, multimodal) for robotic perception and decision-making
• Optimize model performance and compression for real-time, on-device execution
• Design and test manipulation and locomotion algorithms for tasks like picking, lifting, and navigation
• Integrate models into physical robots and assist with data collection and performance analysis
• Stay up to date with the latest research in robotics and AI

Qualifications

• MS in CS, AI, Robotics, or related field
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills; experience with C++ a plus
• Familiarity with behavior cloning, diffusion policies, or related learning methods
• Solid foundation in robot kinematics and locomotion algorithms

Bonus Points

• Experience with ROS, MuJoCo, Gazebo, or Isaac Sim
• Experience in on-device model optimization and deployment
