MP Engineers (MP) is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, offering expertise in architecture, structural/civil engineering, construction management/inspection and special inspections. We serve both private and public sector clients and are hiring staff for our recently opened Boston, MA, and Harford, CT offices to assist with work on current and future projects. The Structural Engineer candidate will perform structural planning, analysis and design for transportation bridge, structural, and facility projects. You will develop innovative and practical solutions for basic to complex structures and work with a team of our senior seasoned professionals. The role requires a candidate who is detail-oriented with strong attention to precision to produce accurate designs and plan sets. Multi-tasking and working in a team-based environment to perform work to meet/exceed client expectations in a timely manner, capability of working with other technical design staff in a multi-discipline team environment, and participation in day-to-day design activities will be part of the role. Adherence to MP Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare or check structural analysis and design calculations.
• Provide design details for production AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Prepare quantities, and cost estimates.
• Assist in development of plan sets, design reports or other technical submittals
• Prepare bridge load rating calculations and reports
• Review shop drawings, construction methods and operational procedures.
• If required, conduct site visits to perform condition inspections.
• Assist with preparation of condition assessment reports.
