Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric CVICU position requiring ECMO specialist and Epic experience, with a current MI RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a hospital setting
• Cares for pediatric patients requiring advanced cardiovascular and ECMO support
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 (occasionally 1:2 for pediatric circuits) and 1:3 for adults with remote monitoring and rounding care model
• Uses Epic EMR, prior experience required
• Day shift schedule with a mix of 12-hour shifts (average of 32 hours per week), alternating between 36 hours one week and 24 hours the next
• Required to work 2 weekends per 4-week scheduling period
• No floating or call requirements
• Primary duties include caring for pediatric cardiovascular patients requiring ECMO
• First-time travelers are accepted if they have prior ECMO specialist experience in an urban/academic medical center
• No traveler pairs accepted for this assignment
• Flu shot is mandatory during season as per compliance deadlines
• Recent permanent employees (within last 12 months) are not eligible
• Perm staff may return as travelers after one year
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• No RTO is allowed during the first week of the contract
• Orientation modules will be completed onsite

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active MI RN license required at the time of consideration (not compact)
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU RN experience with ECMO specialist expertise
• Prior experience working in an urban or academic medical center required
• BLS certification required and must be current before start date
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two manager or supervisor professional references required
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions allowed
