HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel Diabetic Educator for a travel job in Charleston, South Carolina.

Pediatric Diabetic Care and Educator Specialist (RN or RD)
📍 Charleston, SC
Start Date: 11/17/2025 | Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 5×8-Hour (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

• Unit: Pediatric Diabetic Care and Educator Specialist
• Setting: Outpatient Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic
• Schedule: 5×8s, Day Shift (No weekends or on-call)
• Charting: Epic
• Hybrid/Remote: Possible flexibility
• Float: May float to similar units if needed

• Experience: Minimum 5 years related experience
• License: Active SC or RD license (must be in hand before start)
• Certifications:
  • CDCES – Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (Required)
  • BLS (Preferred)
  • Pump Training Preferred: Omnipod and/or Tandem
• Education: BSN or RD with Master’s Degree
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

• Pediatric Diabetes Education & Management
• Blood Glucose Monitoring & Insulin Administration
• Pump Settings & CGM Technology
• Pediatric Patient & Family Education
• Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching
• Follow-up and Telehealth Support

• Maintain an independent schedule of patient visits (approx. 8 per day)
• Provide comprehensive diabetes education to pediatric patients and caregivers
• Support endocrinologists with care coordination and treatment planning
• Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans
• Educate families on insulin management, glucose monitoring, nutrition, and lifestyle habits
• Maintain EMR documentation according to ADA, CMS, and institutional guidelines
• Serve as an educational resource for staff on pediatric diabetes management

• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Scrubs: Brown (RD) or Royal Blue (RN)
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
• Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
