Job Description\n

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, while advocating for individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with state and organizational policies.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care in managing a group of patients.
\n
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
\n
• Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications as per policy.
\n
• Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.
\n
• Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
\n
• Participate in Nursing Shared Governance Model initiatives and peer review practices.
\n
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
\n
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience required.
\n
• Current NYS RN License.
\n
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
\n
• Experience in a cardiac telemetry department is required, including knowledge of various cardiac procedures and medications.
\n

\n\nSchedule\n

This is a 13-week contract position requiring 12-night shifts per 36-hour week with every other weekend included.
