Job Description

Valco Melton, a world leader in adhesive application and quality assurance systems, is seeking an entry-level Marketing Assistant to join the Marketing team at our world headquarters in Cincinnati.

The Marketing Assistant will play a key role in the execution of events and media outreach. They will provide administrative and logistical support for the Marketing team, ensuring smooth operations before, during, and after events. Event duties will include planning for trade shows and industry/corporate events, along with webinars and other online or in-house events as needed. Media duties will focus on supporting the execution of advertising campaigns, editorial submissions, and media tracking to promote brand visibility.

In addition, this role will support other marketing functions, including product launches, social media, email communications, website updates, collateral updates, content writing, and branding.

Note : this is a 100% in-office role. This individual will be working from the home office in Cincinnati whenever they are not traveling for events.

Specific Responsibilities:

Trade Shows/Events -

  • Carry out the overall event strategy, themes, content, and services/logistics for assigned events, working in collaboration with key internal partners (Product Management, Marketing leadership, Sales/Market Vertical leaders, etc.)
  • Assist in the coordination of trade show logistics, including event registration, booking travel, ordering services and supplies, and shipping booth materials.
  • At-show support, including booth setup and teardown, and post-show support, including lead processing and reporting.
  • Administrative support, processing orders and invoices, and tracking expenses to upkeep the approved budgets.
  • Marketing support: basic assistance in the development of marketing materials, such as brochures; supporting Marketing Specialists in event-related digital and social media promotions.

Media & Advertising -

  • Help execute media plans by assisting in the creation and coordinating the delivery of content for print, digital, and social media advertising and editorial.
  • Administrative support, placing orders and processing invoices, tracking annual budget.
  • Track editorial calendars for relevant opportunities, track media placements and performance, perform competitor analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills for project and event planning.
  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) trade show logistics and planning.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal personnel, outside vendors, and show-planning organizations.
  • Strong writing, copy-editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a passport and travel to trade shows and events when needed (up to 30% travel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior marketing experience, especially in the manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge/familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot.
  • Proficiency in Spanish (strongly preferred).
