The Contract Licensed Clinical Therapist will provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapy to youth and young adults (ages 12–24). This role is central to Melabiz’s community healing mission, integrating behavioral health with housing stability, violence prevention, and emotional wellness.

The therapist will conduct individual and group sessions, contribute to case planning, and ensure all documentation meets clinical, ethical, and funder standards. This position offers flexibility and autonomy within a supportive, mission-driven team environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Individual Counseling

  • Provide one-on-one therapy for youth and young adults addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or behavioral concerns.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client goals.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential notes and progress records in compliance with HIPAA and Arizona law.

2. Group Facilitation & Workshops

  • Design and facilitate workshops focused on emotional regulation, communication, coping skills, and healthy relationships.

  • Collaborate with case managers, peer mentors, and community partners to integrate mental wellness across Melabiz programs.

3. Crisis Response

  • Provide immediate support and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health crises.

  • Refer clients to appropriate levels of care when necessary.

4. Program Collaboration

  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate holistic care.

  • Support grant-funded initiatives through progress tracking and outcomes reporting.

5. Documentation & Evaluation

  • Complete all session notes and data entry within 48 hours.

  • Assist in collecting outcome metrics for grant reporting and evaluation purposes.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.

  • Active Arizona license: LPC, LMSW, or LCSW (required).

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing therapy to youth, families, or marginalized communities.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with justice-involved, foster care, or LGBTQ+ populations.

  • Skilled in de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and CBT or similar evidence-based modalities.

  • Comfortable facilitating groups or workshops.

Contract Terms

  • Independent contractor (1099) status — no benefits provided.

  • Must carry active professional liability insurance.

  • Flexible scheduling; some evenings or weekends may be required.

  • Services are paid per direct session hour and approved program activities.
