This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs of facility and client audio, video, and technical systems including lighting, sound, video, telephone systems, computer/data systems (internet) and radio and television broadcasts. Essential duties include setup, monitoring and maintenance of all technical/staging equipment related to audio, video, lighting, scoreboard operations, staging equipment, telecommunications, and network. Provides installation and repairs on phone, network, cable feeds, audio and video services. Coordinates telephone system provider services with in-house requirements. Maintains applicable code requirements for cable insulation, ceiling plenum routing, wall penetration, and fire routing. Troubleshoots technical problems, uses test equipment, works from blueprints, develops sketches or schematics, reads and communicates client floor plans. Supervises and assists outside contractors, stagehands, riggers, and production crews. Maintains inventory of all audio, video, and telecommunications equipment. Provides internet connections with IT department assistance. Coordinates work with all operations sections and interfaces with users, providers, and peers. Knowledge of RF cable signals, patch bays, switchers, mixers, converters, and various audio-video-lighting-networking systems. Maintains servers, encoders, broadcast patching, digital signage, and software. Performs IT tasks such as wiring, routing, installing, networking hardware and physical network. Operates systems during events as needed. Maintains building lighting systems and equipment. Responsible for equipment maintenance, repair, and inventory. Coordinates with contractors and production crews in supervisor's absence. Performs event standby and real-time troubleshooting. Identifies and terminates audio and video connections. Extensive knowledge of signal flow for audio and video, wireless systems, digital vs. analog signals. Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and company vehicles. Minimal supervisory responsibilities when assigned. Qualifications include high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years audio/video installation experience, valid driver's license, good computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office, radio communication skills, soldering and phone system knowledge preferred, troubleshooting and programming knowledge a plus, ability to work under pressure and in teams, good communication skills, networking skills a plus, and maintaining a safe working environment. Physical requirements include climbing, standing, walking, visual acuity, stooping, hearing, repetitive motion, and exerting force. Working environment may include exposure to shock hazards, vibrations, noise, strobe lights, lasers, extreme heat or weather. Shifts vary and may include irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. The job is subject to change and reasonable accommodations may be made.
